GRA Set To Tax Earnings Bloggers, Brand Influencers And Mcs
The Ghana Revenue Authority is planning to tax the income of Bloggers, Brand Influencers and Master of Ceremonies in Ghana.
According to the GRA, this is a part of their revenue mobilization drive.
The GRA explained that this has become necessary after analyzing the sector and realizing the level of cash flows in that sector and will widen the country’s tax net.
The GRA is therefore encouraging Bloggers, Brand Influencers and MCs to by themselves, volunteer to register with the authority and pay the taxes as it is their civic responsibility.
Head of monitoring and compliance at the free zones unit at the GRA, Dominic Nartey explained that, there is a need for persons in the informal sector to pay taxes because they wouldn’t have been able to work and make their income if the situation in the country wasn’t favorable.
He also explained that, if more people, including these Bloggers, influencers and MCs pay taxes, the tax rate in the country will come down and be affordable to everyone.
