In a very lovely event, a news anchor with WRCB was thrown into a state of surprise as she unknowingly introduced her own marriage proposal live on Air.
WRCB’s news anchor, Cornelia Nicholson was broadcasting news on set at the NBC affiliate when her boyfriend, Riley Nagel, who is also a journalist asked for her hand in marriage.
Cornelia thought she was about to broadcast the love story of a different couple only to realize after the introductory part of the story that pictures of herself and her boyfriend, Nagel were rolling on the screen.
Riley Nagel, who also works as a reporter at WRCB walked onto the set with a bequeath of flowers and box of ring in hand. “I thought it’d be fitting to ask you this question here since we met in news. Cornelia Nicholson, would you marry me?” he asked.
“I’m going to cry!” Nicholson Cornelia said in response saying yes to Riley.
According to Nagel he and Cornelia met in Montana about four years ago while they were both working at a different news station and since then he “was very drawn to” her. The two of them eventually started dating until this recent proposal.
Nigel went on to indicate how much of an inspiration his soon to be wife has been to him in all aspects of life, especially in news reporting.
“You’re one of the reasons, or pretty much the main reason I’m still in news today. You’re always pushing me to do better in news and in other aspects in my life.”, he said.
The reporter went down on one knee and popped the question.
